***Reminder***Business Personal Property Returns Due March 16th, 2026

This is a reminder that your 2026 Benton County Business Personal Property Returns are due by March 16th, 2026. If you have already filed this year, please disregard.

Filing a return is mandatory. If you have not already registered with ORCATS to access your asset list and file your return, we encourage you to do so.

You will need to create a new account with our new vendor ORCATS. Your “Authorization Code” can be found in the middle of the letter we mailed out in early January. Additional information, including FAQs, timelines, and helpful links, is available on our website.

Please visit our Business Personal Property website at https://assessment.bentoncountyor.gov/business-personal-property/ for step-by-step tutorials on how to register for ORCATS and how to digitally file your return.

If you do not file your return on or before March 15th you will be assessed a late filing penalty equal to 5% of your total tax amount. The late penalty increases to 25% of your total tax if filed after June 1st. It then increases to 50% if filed after August 1st.

*NOTICE* If your business moved or permanently closed prior to 1/1/2026, please denote that on the return, or provide a detailed letter referencing the account number and date of the sale or closure.

Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS 308.285-308.300) require that all businesses file an annual Confidential Personal Property Tax Return with the County Assessor. This tax return shall list all furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other assets in use by the business as of January 1.

We are here to help and answer any questions you may have. Please contact us at 541-766-6269 or email to Personal.Property@bentoncountyor.gov.
